Absences

If your child will be absent from school, please inform the office and class teacher before 8am via one of the following:

Please include in your message:
  • your child's name
  • room number
  • reason for your child’s absence
By law, no child should be absent from school without an appropriate reason. Therefore, it is vital you let us know as we are required to record this information on each student’s file. We check all absences every day and contact parents/caregivers of children with an unexplained absence. This helps to ensure children are safe. We do require a written note to the classroom teacher when your child is away from school for more than 3 days. 

If you are going on a holiday or your child is to be away from school for more than 5 days a written request for leave of absence must be made to the Principal (principal@remarkables.school.nz).
