SQUISH SQUASH SQUELCH
Remarkables Parent Association's lastest fundraiser is SQUISH SQUASH SQUELCH!
As part of our students inquiry learning, we have been looking at the concept of "From field to table". This school wide inquiry saw our senior students looking at the science of wine making and the runnings of a working winery. The Year 4 students looked at how cheese was made and created their very own marscapone cheese and the Year 2 and 3 students had a Masterchef bake off creating beautiful loaves of bread. Our Year 1 students have been looking at the process of making ginger beer.
Amisfield Winery kindly donated a number of crates of grapes for squishing by the students. The juice from the grapes has been transformed into wine. The first batch is a Sauvignon Blanc and a Pinot Gris varietal which we are currently taking orders for. Do get in quick as their is a limited number of bottles produced. An order form can be found in the resources section on the right.
During 2012 we will be releasing a Squish Squash Squelch Pinot Noir at a gala event. Dates to come.
Students have been involved in a design process to create labels for the wine bottles, the cheese and the bread. The winning labels will be announced shortly and place here on our website. Watch this space.
