The Remarkables Primary School Board

John Stalker - Board Chair

I have been living in Queenstown since 1992, having a short break in 1996 to travel to the UK.
I am married to Karan, and dad to sons Zackary (9) and Lucas (7). We are Company Owners involved in the construction industry.
I have always enjoyed being involved in various aspects of our sons' education, from as early as when they were both starting kindergarten. I held the position of President of Frankton Kindergarten committee for 2 years, resigning to take on the position of Treasurer for the Establishment  Board of Trustees.  Being a member of the Board of Trustees for Remarkables Primary is to me, a once in a lifetime opportunity, to really put myself into a position where I could help develop a truly remarkable school and further my sons' continuing education within the Wakatipu Basin.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience as an EBOT member being involved in the school's development.
I am now looking forward to helping shape and grow Remarkables  Primary School into one of the best educational facilities available

Fiona Woodham - Deputy Chair

Fiona Woodham has lived in Queenstown for 17 years and has three children attending Remarkables Primary School.
A co-founder and director of Southern PR, she has run the business for 16 years and brings strong business, communication and marketing skills to the school board, where she is responsible for Community Relations.
She is looking forward to helping the school and its teaching staff to forge strong community relationships and partnerships, and to support the staff and parent community in achieving positive outcomes for all pupils across the board.

Fleur Caulton

Fleur Caulton is widely recognised for her intimate knowledge of the hospitality industry and is currently General Manger of one of New Zealand’s leading wineries – Amisfield Wine Company.
Fleur established her reputation as a restaurateur as a 21-year-old when she opened the successful Solera Vino restaurant in Central Queenstown.
Under her creative and management influence Amisfield wines have become internationally acclaimed and the Amisfield Bistro has become one of the most sought after eating places in the resort.
Fleur has strong entrepreneurial, management and communication skills and has connections across a wide cross section of the Queenstown community. She considers she can make a positive contribution as a founding Board of Trustees member of the Remarkables School and is committed to its establishment as a prominent education facility in the Wakatipu.

Duncan Ridd

My name is Duncan Ridd and I am proud to serve on the Board of Trustees for Remarkables Primary School. I am married to Meadow and have two children, Ollie (6) and Madeleine (3). Ollie is lucky enough to attend Remarkables Primary as one of its foundation students. Ever since becoming a parent I have wanted to be involved in my children's education and so I jumped at the opportunity to stand for the board.
I am the manager for Mico Plumbing & Pipelines here in Queenstown and have lived in the Wakatipu for the last seven years. I have worked in two of Queenstown's iconic destinations, Skyline and Millbrook, and feel I have a good understanding of our community.
I have a very high regard for education and have myself attained a Bachelor of Science from Otago University. I believe we, as parents, form a team with our teachers to ensure our kids get the best possible education. I have travelled quite a bit and believe in encouraging our kids to see what the world has to offer them, so our school's vision statement, "to provide world class education to equip and inspire each student to take full advantage of life’s opportunities, strikes a real chord with me.
I am excited to be part of the next stage of our new school and look forward to seeing it grow and evolve.

Paul Rogers

I am pleased and proud to have been elected to the Remarkable Primary School BOT.

I feel we have a strong elected Board with a wide range of skills on offer and look forward to working alongside the other elected members.

Currently I have two sons attending the school.  My wife Paula and I have been living and working in Queenstown for approximately 28 years.  We have always been and still are very active in the sporting community. However our energy and focus is now being directed to providing our children every opportunity to grow and the Remarkables Primary School playing an important role.

My background started in the aluminium and wooden joinery industry then moving into the building industry where with my twin brother Peter started our own building company RBJ Ltd. We have been in business together for about 15 years working on small homes to many large homes as well as commercial buildings, with approx. 15 staff from apprentices to tradesmen.

I believe that I am very approachable - please feel free to have a chat.

Darran Ingram
Hello, my name is Darran Ingram.  I’m married and have one child, Holly who is nine years old, and is a “foundation student” of Remarkables Primary School.  I am the staff representative on the Remarkables Primary School Board of Trustees, and have been in this role since the school has had an elected board. As a Staff Representative, I reflect on and share the staff’s needs, attitudes and opinions at board meetings. I also work closely with the other members on the Board on matters of finance, budget setting, and strategic planning and personnel issues – all in a governance role. I am passionate about continuing a positive relationship between staff and the board and being available to staff to discuss their needs, how their school is administered and what decisions they can influence. I aim to do this with transparency and integrity.
