Remarkables Primary School is set amongst the most beautiful views in New Zealand with the stunning backdrop of the Remarkables Mountains and the shores of Lake Wakatipu lapping at our school's boundary.
The stimulating surrounds are a wonderful activator for learning in Year 1 to Year 8, where students on a daily basis make connections to their world and their local community. Learners are engaged through rich conversations and are challenged to reach their learning goals through a variety of learning pathways.
We see each learner, both young and old, as explorers! - exploring how they best learn, talking with them about their learning and ensuring they take responsibility for their learning within the classroom context and beyond.
“Be an explorer… read, surf the internet, visit customers, enjoy arts, watch children play…. do anything to prevent from becoming a prisoner of your knowledge, experience and current view of the world.” Charles Thompson
We strive to be an inclusive community and warmly welcome parents and members of our community to share the ‘learning journey’ with teachers and students. The sense of family and community is of paramount importance to us.
It's essential that we all work together to ensure that the children in the school community grow in their learning to be active participants and conscientious contributors to their world.
Our staff (Learning Leaders) are learners too! They work together to challenge their thinking and to improve their practice in order to ensure quality and improved student outcomes for every child.
Respect, Reflect, Reach Up, Reach Out and Reward are core values that are intertwined into the learning practices here at Remarkables Primary School. We value what each member of our community (staff, students and families) can contribute to our school and we value the importance of working together so our Remarkables Primary School learning environment can continue to grow and evolve as a dynamic learning establishment.
We welcome you to follow our journey through our web pages.
